The Indian men’s cricket team is currently playing their Australian counterparts on home soil. Though there is no 3 guna Lagaan involved, the Indian players are playing like there is. Talismanic player Kohli’s unofficial spokesperson, Paparazzi Sharma, however, has disclosed an information which has now gone viral.
According to Mr Sharma, the Indian legend VVS Laxman is unhappy with the performance of the team in the ongoing series. People of the 90s might remember VVS Laxman as a “Very Very Special” player who was the hero of the famous 2001 Eden Gardens test match against Australia. Millenials need not bother about it. Laxman is upset for the fact that there is no singular hero in this team.
We should mention here that, the home team has been playing amazing under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli is learning the art quickly. However, the entire team is playing like a unit, which was never the case during Laxman’s time. He, like any Indian father, has blamed smartphones and technology for this.
Our reporter got in touch with the Hyderabad icon to get to the depth of the news. VVS Laxman, one of the iconic players of his era, was reminiscing the old memories near Charminar when he got the news of India’s win. Excited he went in to the local shop just to find the lack of TV and people watching the match on HotStar. Laxman says, “ The fiery Biryani was working and I was already furious when there was no TV set in the shop. Angrily, I reached home to see the scorecard which read three 70s and a complete team performance. Come on!”. Laxman exclaimed angrily, “This is not how you cement a place in the team” He also added, “there is nothing remaining for the guests and this is opposite to what we are preached. Whatever happened to Athiti Devo Bhaba!”
We are still waiting for a reaction from Kohli and Co. The last time we called, his assistant said, he is with the entire team gymming. This has infuriated Laxman even some more. All that we can do is wait and watch.
