After Andrea Pirlo’s superb performance for Italy against England which resulted in English defeat, England boss Roy Hodgson has ordered his midfielders to be more like Pirlo by growing beard.
Sources in England camp said that in training session following defeat against Italy, Hodgson told his midfield that they were over powered in middle of the park. And drastic changes were needed before Uruguay game. Sources said idea of growing beard could be inspiring as most English midfielders in the squad are clean shaved.
After this Hodgson directive there are questions being raised about squad selection as Manchester United’s Michael Carrick carried beard for most part of the season. TV pundits have question Carrick’s omission as he had full grown beard.
