Mumbai: Running out of ideas about how to push events and promotional programs between live broadcast of match, a desperate BCCI has turned towards queen of daily soaps ‘Ekta Kapoor’. BCCI has reportedly asked her to come up with ways to introduce celebrations and promotions during Master Blaster’s last test match. Ekta Kapoor is notoriously famous for utilizing every opportunity (even creating them if needed) to push celebrations in her daily soaps.
Rajiv Shukla the poker faced IPL chairman told faking news, “We have seen how well Ekta Kapoor introduces celebrations in her serials every month, whether story demands or not. I saw a serial where lead pair was getting married for the 5th time (3rd time to each other). Two weeks and 50 dance performances later I discovered that it was only Sangeet. Marriage was still 2 months away. Isn’t it amazing? With the list of events provided by Ms Kapoor, 5 days will look like 5 months”.
After Kolkata test unexpectedly ended in 3 days, BCCI’s plans to hold grand celebrations went into dustbin. Going by the form of West Indies team, Mumbai Test might also not reach into 4th day. The sponsors who had planned to promote their products in Kolkata have started pressurizing BCCI to figure out ways to recover money. “Once Sachin retires, I doubt people will have patience to watch Test matches anymore. So this is it.” told VP of Chaini Khaini who is cajoling BCCI to inaugurate a wax statue of Sachin chewing Khaini.
Fans who were already upset for not getting match tickets are feeling hopeless about this development. But sponsors are delighted and have already started suggesting in-your-face advertising/promotional events that could help a potential 3 day match stretch up to 5 days.
- 2 hour long opening and closing ceremonies featuring SRK as host and performer.
- During lunch, a cooking competition “master blaster chef” sponsored by Amul.
- Introduction of Nach Baliye season 6 jodi’s whenever a new batsman arrives at crease.
- When a batsman dances down the ground to hit six, a dance performance by dancers of Shamak Dawar academy.
- Promo of ‘Savdhaan India… India fights back’ after fall of every WI wicket.
When Shaitaan Khopdi™ asked if these promotional events will look a little out of place, Shukla replied “Not at all, every event whether it is SRK’s show or Cooking show during lunch, is a tribute to Master Blaster. Don’t forget, Sachin has given 24 years to cricket and he deserves every bit of it. #ThankYouSachin”.
