KOLKATA: In the wake of on-going “Sachin” series, BCCI has decided to limit the scope of LBW decisions, if sources to be believed, for at least this series.
The decision was taken in a meeting on 2nd day of first test when Sachin Tendulakr was given out in a controversial LBW decision.
The meeting was attended by N Srinivasan, Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and all other board officials; some big decisions were taken after a two hour long meeting.
Shockingly, BCCI has asked to call off the entire concept of LBW. “It would save both, time and the technology. We would not need DRS at all after that”, Srinivasan sees a win-win situation here. Ravi Shastri has come up with alternative solutions as well, “The simple Gully cricket rules can be used. I suggested that if a batsman found playing by leg 3 times in a span of 10 overs, he can be given out. We are going to try this rule in the on-going series.”
ICC has been informed and BCCI has also asked for a special status for this series. For unknown reasons, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar is very happy about this move. “Hum Sachin aur BCCI dono ko shubhkamna dete hai“, an over-joyed CM said.
Sources informed Faking News that BCCI has also
requested informed WI board and asked them to confirm the rules. They have also asked WI players to do not appeal for caught behind, at least not against Sachin Tendulkar. “Such appeals lead to wrong decisions. Being a sportsman, no one should try such tactics. Cricket will be a better game after this”, Gavaskar explained.
