Keeping in mind the rising trend among the youths to get their selfies clicked in Mumbai metro after its inauguration on Sunday, MMOPL (Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd) has decided to have a separate coach for clicking the selfies.
Welcoming the decision ,Raghu, one of the first timers in Mumbai metro, said “Its an amazing idea. My friend clicked a selfie in mumbai metro and his post got more than 100 likes. Its a cool thing. I always wanted to travel in Mumbai metro, not only it saves time but then you can post your selfies on Facebook which is even cooler. So today decided to travel and the moment I entered the bogie, took out my mobile and clicked dozens of selfies.Had to edit them for couple of hours before posting it”
When senior official from MMOPL was contacted, he said, “We had to do it to attract the youth of this country. Also, we are planning to have a dedicated photographer in the coach to help commuters with their profile pictures. The ticket for that bogie will be Rs20 more than first class. Once the photograph is posted on facebook,we will also ‘like’ it and ‘comment’ on it free of cost.We have also tried to contact Mark Zukerberg to have the feature where user can update status ‘I am a Mumbai Metro traveller’ after travelling in the metro, on the same lines of ‘I am a voter’ feature. However, we are yet to get any reply. Hoping for the best!”
