Shashi Tharoor has last laugh

03, Nov 2012 By Ujjal Choudhury

Narendra Modi today said that as a Gujarati he knew all about love and certainly much more than Tharoor who was a Keralite. He was responding to media on Shashi Tharoor saying that he (Modi) needed to love someone to know that Tharoor’s wife was priceless.

When this Faking News reporter asked him why, Modi replied that way back in 1994 the famous hit song from Khuddar made the statement “I love you” was given in Gujarati ahead of all other Indian languages and broke out into a jig singing “Gujrati maa bole tane prem karun chhun chhun chhun”.

This only goes on to show that as a Gujarati I know all about love and don’t need to know any more. What’s more no Malayalam version of the expression is there in the song and it conclusively proved that Tharoor as a Malayali was not qualified to comment on his need to love.

When confronted with this news Tharoor retorted that he has been married twice before, once to a Bengali and then to an American and both English and Bengali version of the refrain was there in the song. “I don’t need any lessons in love” he said, “priceless love is the prerogative of the members of ruling class who have been married thrice to a spouse who has been married thrice”.

“The cattle class is artificially inseminated and thus have little chance to love, as the Minister for Human Resources Development I will change all that” were his concluding remarks.
