DynasTea, a bubble tea company from the Philippines, announced its big foray into India and has signed up Rahul Gandhi as its brand ambassador.
“This election season, drinking tea has become fashionable in India. Narendra Modi has been playing up his humble chai-wallah beginnings, so it is clear that the public is ready for different types of tea,” said Victor Chan, CEO of DynasTea.
“Obviously, Rahul Gandhi can play up his own illustrious pedigree to sell tea, and what better way to do it than DynasTea?”
“Definitely the creamy layer in Indian politics also needs a voice, and Rahul is the refreshing, new yet familiar, brand who can sell bubble tea with cream on top,” gushed nominated Congress Rajya Sabha MP Mani Shankar Aiyar.
“People don’t know this, but I am told by my juniors that Rahul used to enjoy a mean cup of tea along with his cucumber sandwiches at Doon schoolm,” Aiyar said. “All my fellow Doonkis remember him fondly as a tea connoisseur.”
Rahul Gandhi, when reached for comment, once again insisted on referring to himself in the third person.
“Well, Rahul Gandhi is all about women’s empowerment, RTI and that’s who Rahul Gandhi is,” said Rahul Gandhi.
