New Delhi. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today appealed to friends and well-wishers not to celebrate his birthday and instead dedicate time and resources towards Chota Bheem.

“I am hearing from different places that friends & well-wishers are planning various programmes and events for my birthday. My humble request – do not celebrate my birthday.  Instead, focus on next Chota Bheem episodes, It is really getting interesting,” Rahul said in a press release.

“The appeal from Rahul is sending mixed signals to Congress. No one is actually planning any kind of celebrations till now. But, does this appeal means he is expecting some celebrations? Or should we really focus on Chota Bheem?” told a senior congress leader who chose to stay anonymous.

“I am not much into animation programmes. We are going to write a letter to High command if it is okay to focus on ‘CID’, ‘Balika Vadhu’ or ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ instead,” told another congress leader.

Shashi Tharoor, the official spokes person of Congress, called for a press meet immediately and tried to ‘decode’ Rahul’s intentions behind the announcement.

“By asking his supporters to watch Chota Bheem, Rahul had reached to a new levels in Indian politics,” Shashi Tharoor said,  “I mean HIGH levels (not low levels),” he clarified while answering a reporter, “Chota Bheem signifies Strength, Happiness, Culture, Tradition, and History which are 5 most critical components of our country and the Congress party.”, he added,  “I am not only sure that Chota Bheem will win us next elections, but also confident that AICC will never allow Rahul to speak in public again,” he asserted before leaving Press meet furiously.

However,  BJP spokesperson Subramaniam Swamy  said, “This is a trick being played by Rahul Gandhi to hide his age and avoid questions on marriage. BJP will not allow this. We will celebrate his birthday, if he doesn’t. We may also announce Rahul’s birthday as ‘Fool’s day’ and there by force all Indians to celebrate.”

Meanwhile, Kejriwal has asked his supporters not to celebrate their birthdays, instead just watch ‘Nayak’ movie again.
