Rahul against dynasty In politics

05, Feb 2014 By Ravi Raman

Prompted by an article on 25-year old Bilawal Bhutto Zardari being called the scion of Pakistan’s grandest political dynasty, Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party’s PM in limbo, has come out strongly against such practices.

All of us, since my grandmother Indira Gandhi, uncle Sanjay Gandhi, parents Rajiv & Sonia Gadhi and Priyanka & Robert Vadra had been and are still strongly against such un-democratic practices, he reportedly commented.

Such undemocratic methods are also seen in Bangladesh and Thailand, he felt adding that he had been informed of similar instances in Uttar Pradesh.

Asked about Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Haryana and Rajasthan among other states, Mr Gandhi pointed out that due to the RTI Act, which he had instrumental in enacting, he was unable to determine whether these allegations were true.

The RTI, he pointed out, excluded people from getting information on political parties. He assured that he would try his best to get more details and would take “proper action.”
