27, Mar 2015 By

New Delhi. The previous instances of World Cup victories for India were in 1983 and in 2011. In 1983 the government at the center was led by Smt.Indira Gandhi. The second time the team won the World Cup was in 2011 when our PM was Shri. Manmohan Singh.

The Spokesperson went on to point out the record of the Indian Cricket team when the BJP was in power. In 1999, the World Cup was held in UK. The team lost in the Super 6. The Indian team lost to Australia in the Super Six stage of the tournament. The only consolation was when India defeated Pakistan.

In 2003, the Indian Cricket team went on to reach the finals in great style but was again outclassed by the Australians.

Again this time in 2015, the team had an undefeated run till the semi finals but lost to the Australians who won comfortably against the Indians. It is pertinent to note that on all occasions the Indan team lost to Australia. Pointing out to Modi’s hand in the loss of the Cricket Team the Spokesperson shared a photograph of the Indian PM posing with the Trophy along with the Australian PM Mr.Tony Abbott, during a recent official trip to Australia.

Speaking to the press the Congressman said “This proves that Modi was hand in glove with the Australians and had agreed to lose the matches in the World Cups”. This disclosure is bound to create a huge impact on the popularity of the Indian PM and it remains to be seen the extent of damage it would result in.

The BJP dismissed the claims of the Congress as one more cooked up controversy to sully the image of the Indian PM.
