New Delhi. After the Samajwadi Party has bought the rights to Billy Joel’s “We didn’t Start the Fire”, Congress has decided to buy the rights to Anand Raj Anand’s “Chota Baccha jaan ke humko” and adapt the song into a promotion of its prince Rahul Gandhi, heading into its campaign for the LokSabha election.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs winner Azmat Hussain will render the adaptation, Chota baccha jaan ke humko aankh dikhana na”, which will be up on the party’s website. The party has also roped in Bollywood composer Nadeem of the duo Nadeem Shravan, to work on other songs for the campaign.
“It was the idea of Kapil Sibbal. We have got the rights to Anand Raj’s song,” says Vikram Chandra of NDTV, which has brought out the adaptation. “The song has turned out to be quite inspiring and is all set for release before Delhi elections, Congress is expecting to get nearly 1.5 lakh likes on Facebook, Said Rajeev Shukla a senior Congress leader.
The lyrics have been written by Rahul’s mentor and a poet by heart Kapil Sibbal. A central minister,Kapil Sibbal has also joined Twitter to promote the song.
The song “Chota baccha jaan ke” includes the names of all leaders besides promoting Rahul. It includes references to welfare schemes promoted by Rahul, most of them being “Some Rajiv Gandhi Yojna” The verse “Chota Baccha Jaan ke humko” has also been made the punchline for the party’s poll campaign and put up on hoardings with Rahul’s picture.
