Election Commission plans to tackle national disaster

09, Jan 2014 By nandakumar

The Election Commission of India which usually confines itself to polling arrangements, counting of polls and declaration of results, is now embarking on a post poll mission of national importance.

Narendra Modi
Narendra Modi has not yet reacted to the development.

This is in view of the fact that the Congress party, from Dr. MMS downwards, has predicted that Modi as PM would be disastrous for India. On the other hand the BJP, from Dr.S.Swamy upwards, has declared that RaGa would be more disastrous.

With such a huge disaster and national calamity in store for India after the Lok Sabha polls, the EC is in consultation with various stake holders on how to tackle this disaster.

The NDMA has been advised to increase the man power  of NDRF by enrolling more personnel invoking the provisions of MNREGAS and Food Security bill for NDRF work. The NDMA has been alerted to be on standby mode from the day of counting.

Mr.Raj Babbar has been consulted on how to prepare and airlift sumptuous food (costing Rs.12 only) from Mumbai to different parts of the country when the disaster strikes.

The political parties have assured the EC the full cooperation of their elected representatives in tackling the disaster. The Chief Minister has told the EC that an all party group of MLA’s have gone on a study tour to New Zealand and Austarlia etc. to understand this issue. They have submitted an elaborate report on how the West Indies cricket team in New Zealand and the English team in Australia managed  their recent disaster. The CM also told that while more such study tours are on the anvil, the over zealous media has ruined the well planned tours and requested the EC to ban media coverage of study tours till the polls results are declared.

The SP echoed similar sentiments. They said that in spite of Muzaffarnagar disaster and miseries of harsh winter, many MLA’s and Ministers from their party were brave enough to embark on a study tour  of earth quake prone areas like  Turkey, Peru, Mexico etc. Also as part of their PSR ( parties social responsibility) they have roped in many Bollywood starlets and entertainers to conduct a two week training program on how to divert brains and minds from human misery and focus on fast action.

The BJP on its part has assured that their own Mr.Rambo has proved his mettle in Uttarakhand  and elsewhere in Gujarat in daring acts of rescue  during disasters.

The DMK and AIADMK said that have vast experience in tackling disasters like Cauvery water, TN fishermen in Sri Lankan waters and Vijaykanth.

The Congress high command has communicated that all their spoke persons — particularly Sanjay Jha—are well exposed to tackle disasters after their daily quota of exposure to Arnab.

The AAP has made it very clear that one disaster cannot be a substitute for another. Instead it offered an alternative. It has requested the EC to install the broom symbol in all EVMs used for all 543 Lok Sabha Constituencies without the candidate name. Right now they have neither the finance nor the candidates to fight the Lok sabha elections. If the Aam Aadmi in India prefers the broom symbol and gives AAP the majority, they would then decide their candidates to be declared as winners.
