Times Now to broadcast Arnab's old newshour episodes in its show called Total Recall

03, Nov 2016 By Gaurav Mittal

Mumbai, Times Now Bureau. The Goliath of news anchors Arnab Goswami has resigned from his post of Editor-in-Chief at Times Now. While it is usually the news channels that give breaking news every now and then, Arnab leaving Times Now has become the biggest breaking news of the year.

While some described the event as a soul leaving its body, others are wondering about the existence of Times Now without Arnab. Unlike Tata group Times Now is also not fortunate enough to have Ratan Tata to fill the big shoes of Arnab Goswami. It is also unlikely that Times Now will be able to find anyone soon with the volume of voice as high as Arnab who was famous for raising the volume of TVs through DTH technology.

To mitigate the risk of TRPs going down, Times Now has come up with a strategy of showing recordings of Arnab’s old debates in its program called Total Recall. Till now Total Recall was focusing on legendary singers, lyricists, music directors, etc from Bollywood. Arnab resignation has come as a boon for Total Recall which was running out of people and ideas to show and was becoming repetitive.  It is expected that Maroof Raza – best newshour buddy of Arnab – is likely to host Total Recall shows featuring Arnab’s extraordinary skills of humiliating his panelists.

One of his fan, Amit who always used to watch newshour while having dinner said, ” I was very sad after I came to know of Arnab’s resignations. I skipped my dinner yesterday. He is the only one who had the power to invite guests from Pakistan on his show and then roast them. But now I am happy to know that I will be able to see him at least for few hours a week. I am dying to to see those 2 episodes of Arnab where he thrashed President’s son Abhijit Mukherjee and Meenakshi Lekhi so badly that they went numb”

The two main competitors of Arnab, Barkha Dutt and Rajdeep Sardesai, who do not use to air their shows in the same time window as Arnab’s newshour to get some audience and TRPs are quite happy to learn that Times Now is a muted channel now.
