Thiruvananthapuram/Geneva: WTO accepted the Indian request to allot GI tags to Kerala politicians. BJP government requested WTO to give GI tag to their Kerala state secretary Shri Kummanam Rajasekharan who shot to fame last year by kummanifying (gate-crashing) to the Kochi metro inauguration event and having a ticketless journey with the PM,CM& Governor in the metro.

This move annoyed the CPIM led Kerala government and they pressured WTO through China and North Korea to recognize their leaders for the GI tag. Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, Party state secretary Mr Kodiyeri Balakrishnan were recommended by the chinese and North Korean authorities.

Mean while Congress also recommend their leaders such as Mr Ramesh chennithala and Mr Kodikkunnil Suresh. But omitted Mr Sasi Tharoor

Mr Tharoor exasperated by this move and tweeted.” Exasperating farrago of excruciating wrath and treachery shown by an unprincipled showman masquerading as the president of congress” in an indirect response to Mr Rahul Gandhi.

WTO Spokesperson talking with our foreign correspondent, stated that ” It’s not Darjeeling Tea, Mysore silk or the Blue pottery of Jaipur to be GI tagged, these Kerala politicians are the first ones to be GI tagged. But we didn’t know them earlier. These places shot to fame because of these guys. Now if some one says the place name it literally means the person.
