Wife files for divorce against husband who said Sachin should've retired earlier

Through the two short years of an unbelievably challenging marriage, Sneha Gupta silently suffered through her husband Deepak’s snoring, his lame jokes and his penchant for The Black Eyed Peas. It was  last Monday when Deepak drew the last straw. When Sneha was discussing her plans at breakfast of taking leave for Sachin’s last test match, he commented in a know-it-all tone, ‘Yeah it was about time really. Sachin should’ve retired ages ago.’

Although Sneha was very vague in disclosing how she reacted to his comment, she admitted that she lost her cool for just a moment. And in that moment, she may have tossed the toaster on her husband. She said that even though their marriage had a few teething problems this comment made their differences irreconcilable. She added thoughtfully, ‘You can overlook everything. EVERYTHING. But this? How can a man be this stupid? And then how can he dare to voice thoughts as stupid as this? Even mid-level managers are smarter than him.’ Sneha’s parents were not available for a comment. When we contacted her in-laws, her mother-in-law seemed quite sympathetic to her daughter-in-law that is. She thoughtfully added, ‘What can I say? I would do the same thing if I were in her shoes. We are actually in the process of officially disowning our son Deepak.’ In Deepak’s defense, he admits that he shouldn’t have spoken without having sound knowledge of cricket. He confesses that saying, ‘Sachin was at his peak in the 90s’ and ‘India lost the match whenever he scored a century’ weren’t the best things he could have said in his defense. Deepak is now fighting tooth and nail to save his marriage. He tried in vain to get tickets for the test but even after showing the willingness to spend fifty thousand rupees he hasn’t  found any sellers. He even resorted to screaming, ‘Sachin, Sachin’ under his wife’s office but his voice lost over the noise of the entire nation chanting the same mantra.
