Bengaluru: In what came as a major relief to the State Government, a CID team investigating the issue of Ministers snoozing during assembly discussion has given a clean chit to the two ministers.

The team looked into the video evidence given by Opposition and said “It proves beyond doubt that the Ministers were contemplating on serious issues facing the people of Karnataka”. They also added that they had led a fair probe without any direct intervention of the Home Minister.

When asked by a reporter on the snoring sound in the video, the CID team insisted that the veracity of the audio in the tape is yet to be determined. But added “but till as such time that the audio is verified to be true, it is concluded beyond any doubt that they were not snoozing”.

Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, who too has been accused of snoozing in public meetings earlier, who came out of the Assembly, flashing victory signs said “We stand vindicated. The charges of us snoozing in the assembly are completely baseless”.

The Opposition has meanwhile called the CID investigation biased and has asked for a CBI probe into the case.
