India has confirmed its bid to send Dalai Lama along with its representatives to argue for India’s membership in the Nuclear Suppliers Group in its next plenary to be held in the Bern in June.
This decision comes as a “muh-tod-jawab” to China blocking India’s membership in NSG as well as India’s attempts for Masood Azhar to be declared as a terrorist by the UN.
A high up official told FN on the condition of anonymity ‘This scheme was based on our data which shows China’s objections and aggressiveness to increase whenever we publicly support Dalai Lama. When China got irked on the news that he will be visiting the North-East, we decided that it should be used in the right way.
Recent events make it look like China wont back down from its aggressive stance, so we might as well give it a reason.’
