Even after passing Insurance Bill, foreign insurance companies awry of entering Services

New Delhi. Even after passage of Insurance Bill ,there seems a road block. Medical insurance companies are in a tough pitched battle. They are in for stiff competition from the many state police. The hitch came when Indian Police initiated free medical check up at prime location instead of jail doctor checkup. Of course, the scheme comes with a cliche alike all Medical Insurance Schemes. The checkup will be done at a place of the choice of accompanying constabulary.

Due to this scheme which is in pilot stage, jail authorities across Jharkhand are hard pressed. Their is a certain spurt in petty crimes. Most of the apprehended are not opting for bail. The judicial magistrates seem to be left with lesser work. The amount of work of a magistrate is however a matter of another debate. It is rumored that bail is deliberately being missed by many to avail the health check up facility provided by the police.

A murder convict from the Koderma jail was being shifted for a check-up to a Ranchi hospital which is around 200 kilometers away. The convict claims that he has no illness history but it seems that Jharkhand jail officials insisted on his suffering from many disorders. The convict was taken to a Hospital having better facilities. It is also learnt that two of the four constables accompanying were natives of Ranchi while the other two had to attend a Barat in Ranchi.
