Delhi University introduces decade long undergraduate programme

25, Nov 2013 By saifahmadkhan

Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development Dr Shashi Tharoor has congratulated University of Delhi for having introduced the decade-long under-graduate programme.

The new course structure provides students with exit points at the end of 5th and 8th year, respectively so that the ones who are bored of studying do not have to spend an entire decade in college.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Dinesh Singh, Vice Chancellor, Delhi University said, “The DLUP seeks to improve the English language skills of our students. Therefore, in our foundation courses we will begin with fundamental teaching exercises like revising alphabets and nursery rhymes so that the students get their basics right.”

The Meta University concept coupled with the DLUP will enable students to say the Lord’s Prayer during morning assembly in St Stephens, have lunch at Kamla Nehru at their super-cool canteen and finally attend their street theater sessions at Kirori Mal College.

The selection of KMC for practice of theater groups has angered Mani Shankar Aiyar who stated, “Such sort of a thing will provide us with BA Pass Ajay Maken sort of actors.”

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has welcomed the DLUP by announcing that her government has reserved 100% seats for Delhi’ites.
