Bangalore: Bharat, 3 year old boy, denied admission in nursery schools across the city, for not having the letter ‘h’ after ‘t’ in his name, in the birth certificate.

Schools say, “If you are going to be in south India, you have to have south styled name.”

The boy was born in Belgaum, north Karnataka, in a private hospital. The boy was named ‘Bharat’. As Belgaum does not fall in core parts of south India, the letter ‘h’ was not added in his name after ‘t’, in his birth certificate issued by the hospital.

As you go north from the core parts of south India, people like to keep their names short, and prefer to use minimal letters in their names. Bharat’s parents are thinking to get his birth certificate corrected.

Bharat to become BharatH for better future.
