Hyderabad based working couple Mr. and Mrs Ghoomketu have cancelled their planned holiday trip of Malaysia after watching the trailer of Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming release ” Dil Dhadakne Do”. Ghoomketu couple is very happy now as they will be able to see different beautiful locations of the world in less than 500 bucks without any disturbance (story of movie). Moreover, the couple is spreading this message to tempt their colleagues and relatives so that no one who is known to them can go to their respective trips if they aren’t .
Our reporters met with this couple at their two and a half BHK flat in Kondapur area of Hyderabad. The couple was super excited about the release of their holiday experience cum movie.
On asking how a 3 hrs movie can substitute their holiday trip, the husband said, “Why not? Have you seen Zindagi na Milegi dobara ? The way Zoya Akhtar sidelines script and gives importance to travel and tourism is amazing. The characters of movie were rich and wealthy but actually the movie was made for Indian middle class people like us who cannot afford foreign holiday trips once in a year. We watched ZNMD soon after returning from our last trip. I still remember the moment when we left theater . We felt betrayed. We were broken. We could have saved a lot of money”.
The husband was in tears while explaining this. His wife controlled him and continued, “We pledged on tickets of ZNMD that we will not plan any tours further and wait for Zoya Akhtar’s next flick. We expected Zoya understands our feelings and will release a movie once in a year. 3 years passed and there were no sign of a new movie by Zoya. Those 3 years we consoled ourselves with Shimla , Goa and Kerela .Then we lost hope by the start of 2015 and went on to book Malaysia trip. But guess what? One fine day we saw trailer of Dil Dhadakne Do. We knew that our patience will pay off one day”.
We left the place when both started
crying Khushi ke aansoo. The Ghoomketu couple was not only the one who felt like this.We contacted several travel agencies and found that cancellation are on rise and no further bookings were made post trailer release. Travel agencies are now planning to file case against Zoya Akhtar’s production house for lobbying their innocent tourists.
