Comedy Nights with Kapil completes 100 episodes, Sidhu relieved

08, Aug 2014 By Somesh Chandran

Fans around the world were ecstatic as popular television show “Comedy Nights with Kapil” completed 100 episodes recently. But one man heaved a sigh of relief and it was none other than notorious laughter boy Navjot Singh Sidhu. Speaking to news channels around the world, he said, “I felt as uncomfortable as a bum on a porcupine. Laughing for 8 hours straight is no mean feat my friends. (They shoot 4 episodes everyday).

India's weakness?
Talented Sidhu’s show

Kapil Sharma himself told reporters, “I understand the quote laugh and the world laughs with you but beyond a point I started having sleepless nights. Deep down I knew all my jokes weren’t that great (yes we agree, some were nice). In spite of some poor quality jokes, Sidhu Paaji would continue to laugh hysterically but the others around him remained as quiet as silence. (Sidhu paaji insisted I put in the silence metaphor at the end)

OO CHAH GAYA GURU! THOKO!

(Mr.Sidhu warned me that he would not let me complete this article if I didn’t include his trademark final words.)

Stand up comics around the world marvel at paajis ability to laugh relentlessly. Famous stand-up comic-Russell Peters said, “He is definitely a ray of hope for all struggling comedians around the world. If the world doesn’t smile when you do, be assured Paaji will. Standing besides Paaji is like cutting an onion, you know those tears are going to come rolling down no matter what. My friend got out of a coma after hearing his laughter.”

Meanwhile foreigners from around the world have started attending and watching the show. An old lady from France explained, “I don’t understand Hindi but I know exactly when to laugh at Mr.Kapil’s jokes by looking at Paaji. Also the laughter club in my area is very far away and I cannot walk till there hence this is a great alternative. It keeps my heart stress free knowing that there is a human being out there who always smiles even when the world doesn’t always smile at him.”

At the time this article was going to print, Mr. Sidhu caught hold of the reporter’s pen and wrote down the following Shayari (albeit with a smile on his face)

“Experience is like a comb that life gives you when you are bald my friend”

The reporter looked bamboozled since he could not understand how Mr.Sidhu relates to that Shayari.

There is a thin line that separates laughter and pain, Mr.Sidhu seems to know exactly where that line is. Bravo! Or maybe he doesn’t.
