Since the release of Mary Kom’s trailer social media; twitter, tumblr, facebook and even scrapbook of Rahul Gandhi is flooded with appreciations for Priyanka Chopra who is playing the role of Manipuri girl from a small village in Manipur.

Inspiring others.

Noted film critic Taran Adarsh who is currently in California to head the jury of ongoing Academy Awards for Best Film Critic went on record to say that, “Priyanka played Mary Kom better than Mary could have played herself.”

Moreover the dark knight of Bollywood and film’s producer; Sanjay Leela Bhansali is particularly happy with the developments. He is all praise for Priyanka Chopra who could pull the character brilliantly despite her north Indian origins.

Speaking to correspondent from Faking News he said that, “while writing the script for Mary Kom, we went to the suburbs in Punjab to do our ground research and upon completion immediately roped in Priyanka for the role but later it turned out that Mary Kom is from Manipur but until then half of the movie was already filmed but I am relaxed to know that more than half of the country doesn’t know it too. So I guess it’s all sorted.”

Meanwhile film maker Sajid Khan who tweets under the pseudonym “Indian Quentin Tarantino” on twitter called Mary Kom a trendsetter in its domain. Rumour has it that inspired from trailer he has decided to rope in Imran Khan for the lead role in his next project which is a biopic on Martin Luther King.

He says that, “lot of Indian directors will be advantaged by this trend. Actors now don’t need to possess things like accent, appearance, body language that are pertinent to character to play it. The range of possibilities has increased. Day is not far when our heroines will play male characters.”
