After receiving a huge success on the box office in spite of criticism from all over the critics community, Sajid Khan remains on top of the world.

Directed by Sajid Khan, ‘Humshakals’ which was released on June 20 this year has reportedly collected a marvellous 50 crores plus in less than two weeks and is expected to bring more money into the producer Vasu Bhagnani’s pockets.

Lucky man.

“Humshakals has been a huge success and we continue to entertain the viewers in the same way we have been doing in past,” said Sajid Khan on his and producer Vasu Bhagnani’s behalf who has already done ‘Himmatwala in past with Khan. “It’s ultimately the crores of viewers of this country who decide whether a movie is good or bad. Critics’ have their own viewpoint, which is sometimes biased. So I sincerely believe that it would be unfair to certify a movie good or bad on the entertainment scale based on the reviews from a handful of critics,” he added.

In a separate event organized by famous filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala, he announced the release of his next film ‘Tidwaa’ as a sequel of his 1997 super hit Judwaa starring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Rambha. “I have been thinking of the Judwaa sequel for a long time, but unfortunately other projects in hand have kept me occupied well. But the day I heard about Hamshakals, I made up my mind for ‘Tidwaa’,” said Nadiadwala.

Bollywood has been experimenting with double roles since more than 50 years now, but number of roles more than that did not get much success on the box office. There have been few experiments like “Naya Din Nayi Raat” with Sanjeev Kumar having 9 roles and Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Whats Your Raashee?’ with twelve. Success of ‘Hamshakals’ have certainly been able to break that status quo and filmmakers look very happy with that.

“Sajid Khan’s experiment of triple role has paid off well. Looks like people have started welcoming these kind of innovations happening in the film industry,” said Nadiadwala. “Indian audience is much more receptive now than they used to be in past. They are ready to embrace the variety that few of the finest directors like Sajid Khan have brought to the Indian Cinema,” he added.

On asking about the details of ‘Tidwaa’, Nadiadwala said, “Entertainment and audience satisfaction is my highest priority. I have already signed with Sajid Khan to direct this upcoming film. My first choice for lead will be Salman if dates is not an issue.  We are also open about Akshay Kumar. We are hoping to get all the casts signed by end of August and will begin the shooting in early November this year.”

“We have already done box office hits ‘Heyy Baby’, ‘Housefull’ and ‘Housefull 2’ together in past.  I have a great trust in Nadiadwala’s production team and his skills. I am sure he will keep on making good films in future,” said Sajid Khan who was also present at the event.

‘Tidwaa’ is expected to hit the screens around Diwali of 2015.
