TCS engineer files complaint with CCI against Infosys dress code change

05, Jun 2015 By pychohisto

Bangalore, Bhanu Pratap*, an ITA with TCS has approached the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to file a complaint against Infosys. Mr. Pratap has alleged that the recent announcement by Infosys to abolish formal dressing and allowing ‘smart casuals’ every day gives an unfair advantage to Infosys and its employees.

Speaking exclusively to our correspondent, Bhanu said “Do you know how hard it is to ask a girl out while wearing a tie? Now those boys from Infosys will come wearing those colourful clothes and take all the girls away. How is this fair?”

Lending support to Bhanu, Sreenivas Naidu*, a team lead chimed in “I had finally managed to ask a colleague out for a coffee after work. After waiting there for her for two hours, I was finally about to leave and to my utter shock I see her walking in with Monty from Infosys campus next door. This was the last straw that made me decide that we have to do something about this.

“What’s more, not only are those guys getting all this, they are also being showered by deals and discounts. Just yesterday, I saw a promotion from Allen Solly offering them a 25% discount,” Said Bhanu in dismay.

“Earlier, we just had to compete with those guys for H1B visas. At least that was a level playing field. I just hope TCS makes to switch to casuals soon otherwise I see tough times ahead of us,” he added morosely.

CCI, Infosys and Allen Solly have declined to comment on this story.
