Mango Bites Recalled To Maintain Law & Order

21, Oct 2012 By Ujjal Choudhury

Speaking on conditions of anonymity a well informed source within the Food and Drug Administration today informed Faking News that real reason for recalling “Mango Bites” was an instruction from the Ministry of Home Affairs which apprehended that the name of the product might incite the Mango People in the Banana Republic to bite The Hand that feeds them. “As you will notice”, the source said, “FDA had asked for the products to be recalled since they were unsafe”.

When contacted, Parle lawyers said that they were going to contest the ban on the basis of precedence where a similar recall order imposed by the West Bengal Government had been stayed by the courts which took suo moto cognizance of the case.

Readers may recall that sometime back Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, had instructed FMCG major Reckitt Benckiser to recall their stain remover Vanish which she said means a plan to assassinate and kill her referring to the “decomposed picture” circulated by Professor Ambikesh Mahapatra.
