Audi to give free upgrade to Audi A4 car owners in Mumbai

04, Jan 2014 By Albert Lobo

Mumbai: As a Christmas & New Year goodwill gesture, Audi India is giving out free upgrades to all Audi A4 Sedan owners in Mumbai. The existing A4 owners will get an Audi A6 Sedan as a replacement to their existing Audi A4.

The Audi India spokesperson informed that all A4 owners are being offered a brand new A6 Sedan 2014 model. This offer is being brought in association with Reliance Industries, the Indian conglomerate holding company as part of a goodwill gesture to all Mumbaikars as part of the crash-celebration offer deal.

Audi has decided to play Santa this December following wide-spread criticism for the free upgrade provided to Ghatkopar resident, Foram Ruparel, whose A4 car was totaled in a collision with an Aston Martin Rapide, owned by Reliance Industries. Newspapers reported that Reliance had provided a free Audi A6 to Ms Ruparel after the crash. This news was categorically denied by Reliance Industries and Audi India finally admitted to providing the free car.  Audi has clarified that A6 is a much sturdier and safer sedan compared to A4, which is accident prone considering its affinity to Aston Martins. This love affair between Audi A4 & Aston Martin Rapide is confirmed based on the red heart-shaped marks visible on both these cars at the crash site.

All existing A4 owners will have to bear a charge of Rs.1999/- as postage & handling charges (if the car is a 2010 model or earlier). This charge is waived off for others. The offer will run till 31st March 2014 so that all interested car owners can avail it.

The offer is extended to other brand car owners as well for a crash-celebration offer price at Rs. 35 lakhs, with trade-in of their existing cars, which will be used as decoys for the high-speed crash tests with other high-end luxury sedans & sports cars owned by Reliance Industries as part of their routine test run checks at late hours on Mumbai’s Peddar road.
